Rituelle Rhythmen – Workshop für Atabaques & Congas

Dieser Workshop bietet die seltene Gelegenheit, rituelle Rhythmen und Lieder der afrobrasilianischen Tradition kennenzulernen. Dudu wird verschiedene Rhythmen des Candomblé und der Umbanda vorstellen und dabei in die musikalischen Prinzipien dieser traditionellen Musikstile einführen. Hauptinstrumente sind die Atabaques, die je nach Stilrichtung mit Händen oder mit Sticks gespielt werden. Beide Varianten werden vermittelt und unterrichtet. Die traditionellen Solophrasierungen schulen das Improvisationsvermögen.
Ergänzt werden Atabaques und Congas von Agogô und Xequerê, dazu werden Lieder in afrikanischer und portugiesischer Sprache gesungen.

Ritual Rhythms – Workshop for Atabaques & Congas

This workshop offers the rare opportunity to get to know the ritual rhythms and songs of the Afro-Brazilian tradition, which have huge significance for modern Brazilian music. Dudu will rehearse various Candomblé and Umbanda rhythms to provide an introduction to the musical principals of this traditional music style. The main instruments are the Atabaques, which are played either with the hands or with sticks, depending on the tradition. Both variations of hand and stick technique will be taught. The solo-phrasing help develop improvisational skills. Atabaques and congas are joined by agogô, xequerê, and songs in African and Portuguese.
